Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Ledgerage("we", "us") collects when you use ledgerage.com, the web app, the API, and the MCP server (together, the "Service"), and how we use, store and share it.

1. What we collect

Account information

When you create an account we collect your email address and an authentication identifier. Accounts and sign-in are handled by our authentication and database provider (Supabase); we do not store your password in plain text. For paid plans, billing details are processed by our payment provider (Stripe) — we do not store full card numbers ourselves.

Lease inputs and results

When you compute a lease — via the web app, API, or MCP server — we process the lease inputs you provide (such as commencement date, term, payment amount, discount rate and related assumptions) to return the schedule, journal entries, disclosures and classification. If you save a lease to your portfolio, those inputs and the computed results are stored against your account so you can revisit, export and roll them forward. Anonymous, no-account calculations made with the public web calculator are processed to return a result but are not tied to a personal account.

Usage and technical data

API request logs (endpoint, timestamp, response status, computation units, and rate-limit and quota counters), basic device/browser information, and aggregated product-usage analytics used to operate, secure and improve the Service. Lease inputs are business assumptions, not sensitive personal data; we do not ask you to submit personal data about third parties to compute a lease.

2. How we use this information

• To provide the Service — compute leases and return schedules, journal entries, disclosures and classifications;
• To maintain your saved lease portfolio and generate exports (Excel, CSV, PDF) on paid plans;
• To send transactional email — account, billing, and any alerts you configure;
• To process payments for paid plans via our payment processor;
• To meter API usage, enforce rate limits and quotas, and detect and prevent abuse;
• To improve accuracy, reliability and product quality using aggregated, de-identified usage patterns.

3. We do not sell your data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your account information, lease inputs or saved portfolio to third parties for their marketing purposes. We do not use the lease data you enter to build a separate data product distinct from the Service you signed up for.

4. Who we share data with

We share data only with service providers who help us operate the Service, under contractual confidentiality obligations, including:

• Our authentication and database provider (Supabase), for accounts and data storage;
• Our payment processor (Stripe), for billing on paid plans;
• Cloud hosting and infrastructure providers;
• Email delivery providers, for transactional email;
• Error-monitoring and analytics tooling used to operate the Service reliably.

We may also disclose information where required to comply with a valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Ledgerage, our users, or the public.

5. Standards and reference data

The accounting standards the engine applies (ASC 842, IFRS 16, GASB 87) and the citations we surface are public references, not personal data we collect about you. They are used solely to compute and explain your lease results.

6. Data retention

Account and billing data are retained for as long as your account is active. Saved leases and their computed results are retained until you delete them or close your account. API usage logs are retained for a limited operational period to support metering, billing and abuse detection. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting hello@ledgerage.com, subject to any retention we are legally required to maintain.

7. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards — encryption in transit, access controls, and scoped API credentials — to protect account and lease data. API keys are stored only as a hash and shown to you once at creation. No system is perfectly secure, so we encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to keep API keys confidential.

8. Your choices

• Access, export, or delete your saved leases from your account;
• Rotate or revoke API keys at any time from your account settings;
• Unsubscribe from non-essential email via the link in any marketing email;
• Request a copy of, or the deletion of, your personal data by contacting us.

9. International transfers

Our infrastructure providers may process data in jurisdictions other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for any such transfer.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the Service or by email to account holders.
